WANTED SA has learned that the United States continues to press Iranian sanctions evasions entities. The Treasury Department has designated* thirty seven companies that it states are controlled by the [sanctioned] Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines [IRISL], that are based in Germany, Malta and Cyprus.

It also named five Iranian Nationals, most of who are operating in Europe, as managers, employees and affiliates of IRISL. The named entities include 15 shipping companies that reportedly own designated IRISL vessels, and 11 holding companies that own the shipping companies, al domiciled in Hamburg.

Please note that WANTED SA has confirmed that some are and have London and Hong Kong addresses for the sanctioned individuals. Compliance Officers also want to check the specific principal addresses listed for the entities and avoid any corporate services providers who operate at those locations.

If any bank or financial institution has clients in the Maritime industry; it would be prudent to ensure that they are not engaged in business or commerce with any of these corporate entities or sanctioned Iranian Nationals. Check out the designated entities.

You do not want to be on the wrong side of the latest USA Iran sanctions. Whilst fines & penalties have not yet been imposed on any violators; rumors are flying that there will be some extremely high fines levied.

WANTED SA has a precise list of the names of the Nationals for anyone to view.
