However, it is not just Bitcoin garnering the interest of Iranians. Iran Citizens are paying close attention to the whole crypto industry. Recently there was a crypto conference held in Iran and hundreds of Iranians attended demonstrating a keen interest in Crypto Currency; however, the interest was geared more to investing in Crypto Groups in Europe and the United Kingdom. In Iran there is now a keen and massive interest and awareness in using Crypto Currency on a global basis.
Because digital currencies are decentralized and do not answer to anyone, let alone the government; it truly gives crypto holders autonomy over their own money, regardless of whether or not any additional sanctions are imposed. Also, it is an efficient way to execute cross-border payments, again giving Iranians access to the rest of the financial world without the interference of governments.
Cryptocurrencies aren’t just useful for evading sanctions. It offers a measure of financial security in countries where the economic environment is anything but stable, like in Venezuela, Zimbabwe and even in Panama it is no surprise then that crypto acceptance has increased dramatically in these countries and around the world.
Iranians must be careful in investing in Crypto, in order to ensure that the companies that are selling the crypto are legitimate, registered and/or licensed to protect the Investors' assets. In the past few months the occasional exchange has frozen assets belonging to none government individuals on the pretence of USA sanctions.
