New Canadian Sanctions against Iran Published!
WANTED SA has been informed that Canada has released its new Iran sanctions. They include the designation of 279 entities and 42 individuals in the extensive Special Economic Measures (Iran) Act and Regulations.*
It is strongly suggested that Canadian Compliance Officers access the outstanding resources and hyperlinks appearing on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade,** to review the complete text of the sanctions.
Please note that the sanctions prohibit:
- Correspondent banking with Iranian banking institutions.
- Providing or acquiring financial services to allow any Iranian financial institution to be established in Canada.
- Or any firm indirectly conducting business with Iran knowingly.
