Former Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal, in Federal custody in Miami, due to the Republic of Panama's pending action to extradite him, on multiple charges, has filed an Emergency Petition*, for a Writ of Habeus Corpus, with the United States Supreme Court, to obtain his release on bail. Señor Martinelli faces more than a dozen criminal charges in Panama City, though the extradition request was filed on only two of those offenses.
