Activists set sail for Gaza from Cyprus

FAMAGUSTA, Cyprus – A boat carrying activists from The State of Israel, Germany, the U.S. and Britain has set sail for Gaza, praying and hoping to breach Israel's blockade there and deliver aid peacefully. This momentous and courageous movement is to bring awareness of what must be a solution based on Peace between Israel and the Palestinians without interferences from Iran, Syria and other countries who have their own agenda for peace not to prevail.

Richard Kuper, (Judaic) an organizer with the U.K. group Jews for Justice for Palestinians, says one goal is to show that not all Jews support Israeli policies toward Palestinians. In fact many Jewish people around the world desire Justice and Peace for the Palestinian Nation.

He says the boat, which set sail Sunday morning from northern Cyprus, won't resist if Israeli authorities try to stop it. The trip comes nearly four months after Israeli commandos boarded a flotilla of Gaza-bound ships, killing nine activists.

The 33-foot (10-meter) catamaran Irene, carrying a total of nine passengers and several volunteer Jewish crew members plan to deliver children's toys, medical equipment and other supplies to Gaza.
